Ronald McDonald House Birmingham Children's
House fact file
About the House:
The new Ronald McDonald House at Birmingham Children’s Hospital is our largest purpose built accommodation facility to date. As well as providing 60 ensuite bedrooms, our Birmingham House offers families the opportunity to cook together, to eat together and share their experiences of the day.
For families coming to the Children’s Hospital for day care, there is also a purpose built lounge, kitchen and play area on the ground floor for their use throughout the day.
The RMH Birmingham Children's opened in November 2009, but, even though the House has now been built, we still need help to raise much needed funds to cover the cost of running the House.
“RMHC provide invaluable help to families in times of need and I feel that Birmingham, as the UK's second city, has long been in need of the support that this new House will offer.”
Frank McElroy, Chairman of RMH Birmingham Board of Governors
Number of rooms:60
Opening date:November 2009
About the hospital:
The House will serve the families of children being treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital - one of the top four specialist children’s hospitals in the UK. For more information on the Birmingham Children's Hospital please click here.
