“I am a father of three boys and because of my work spend prolonged amounts of time away from those precious to me. Now, if they were ill and I couldn’t be there by their side I don’t know how I’d cope. I can’t begin to imagine how valuable your accommodation is when your precious babies, for that is what they always will be, are poorly and away from home, and all you want is to be able to be at their side as much as possible. Ronald McDonald Houses give families the opportunity to stay as families, and give children who are ill and sometimes afraid the chance to keep some normality by having those that love them a stone’s throw away. I fully support them and urge others to support this new 60 bedroom House in Manchester. We all know how powerful love can be in the healing process and RMHC provides the ability for that love to be close by.”

“Having stayed in Ronald McDonald House Charities’ accommodation when my brother was seriously ill in hospital, I know first-hand what a difference the new Ronald McDonald House will make to families with seriously ill children being treated at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. I am more than happy to lend my support to such a worthy cause.”

“Being at the House meant that we could be on hand for Louis as he recovered, and we were able to visit him more often. Tim could join us after work and, between us, we looked after Louis 24/7, but we were still able to escape to get a few hours’ sleep, cook a proper family meal, wash and recover by having some time together as a family. I really think that the time we spent in the RMH together helped Louis’ recovery.”

“As a mother, the idea of having a child in hospital is terrifying. Ronald McDonald Houses provide free accommodation for the families of seriously ill children across the country. I can’t think of anything a parent could need more at this traumatic time – other than the miraculous recovery of their child. Having the worry of where to stay and how to afford to be close to their ill child taken care of by RMHC is a clear life-line for thousands of families. I urge businesses and communities to help this worthwhile cause and donate vital funds.”

“Having experienced the trauma of living in the hospital to be close to a sick child, I can understand how crucial the service Ronald McDonald Houses provide is for families with children in hospital. I am sure everyone can imagine how distressing it is to have a sick child in hospital and the difference staying close would make. Every penny donated helps the charity to continue supporting over 40 children’s hospitals and, in turn, hundreds of families each year. Turn those thoughts into action and see if you can find some way – no matter how small – of helping the charity to support more families in need.”
