Dave Savage completes 2013 mile challenge
RUNNING MAN. Dave Savage, 41, from Bramhall near Stockport, celebrates the successful conclusion on Tuesday 31 December of an epic charity fundraising run that saw him cover 2,013 miles on foot in 2013.
Dave undertook the ambitious challenge in aid of Ronald McDonald House Manchester, the free ‘home away from home’ for families who have children being treated at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. He finished the final run of the year – and notched up his 2,013th mile – when he arrived at the House on Tuesday morning and was welcomed by cheering staff, guests and other well-wishers.
Dave says: “It has been a long 12 months but I am so pleased to have completed this challenge. To have ended it at the House made it even more momentous. Seeing some of the families at the House congratulate me and hearing their stories was a very humbling experience and made me want to raise even more money next year for this fantastic charity. Thank you to all my friends and family for their fantastic support.”
Dave has so far raised over £2,000 for Ronald McDonald House Manchester and donations are still coming in through his Virgin Money Giving page.
