My Typical Day - Pip Hackett
My typical day…
What are you focusing on at the moment?
At the moment, excitement is in the air as everything is about our annual Gala Dinner in a few weeks’ time! The purpose of the night is to get as many friends of Ronald McDonald House Charities in a room and raise as much money as we possibly can to help families with sick children in hospital. As a marketing team, we look at the design and creative from brochures to staging and my job is to find a family who has stayed with us and work with them on a speech to deliver on stage! It’s the fourth Gala Dinner I've worked on and each time a mum or dad speaks it makes me feel proud that our Charity has helped families at the darkest time in their lives.
What's your most memorable work moment?
I’ve worked for the Charity for three years and the moment that really sticks out in my mind is the official opening of our 59 bedroom House in Southampton. We were all so excited to welcome media from across the South to join us on the day for a sneak peak at our bespoke accommodation. I love meeting new people and it was a very special experience to meet our VIPs Sandra and her son Jack Brown, from Jersey, who were amongst the very first people to be supported by our House. I can’t wait for the new House in London to open so we can plan it all again!
