Ken Hair is a McDonald’s Franchisee and another passionate supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ken has organised a number of successful cricket events and is currently planning to host the most exciting charity cricket match to date in aid of Ronald McDonald House Charities. This spectacular joint Charity Cricket encounter is already attracting former international cricketers and celebrities who will be providing the opposition by representing the Lord’s Taverners XI. Both Charities are eager to attract an audience of cricket lovers and loyal charity supporters to help reach their fundraising targets.
We spoke to Ken to find out more about his next cricket event and why Ronald McDonald House Charities mean so much to him.
1. Tell us a bit more about what you’ve got planned on Friday 4 September.
The Ronald McDonald House Charity Cricket Team will be playing a Lord’s Taverners XI at The SEE Swalec Stadium in Cardiff. Guests will be greeted with drinks on arrival from 12noon, Lunch will commence at 1.00pm with the Cricket starting at 2.30pm.
A Live Auction and other fundraising activities will be taking place throughout the day.
The game will finish around 6.30pm and guests are welcome to stay on for post-match drinks with the players.
2. What sets it apart from all other cricketing events?
Glamorgan County Cricket Club have a fabulous relationship with the Lord’s Taverners Charity and have kindly offered their superb Test Match Stadium for our 2nd Head to Head Charity Cricket Fixture this summer. The Ronald McDonald House Charities XI delivered a well deserved victory in the 1st Fixture at Repton School in June. The return match is set to be a fascinating encounter and the venue provides an incredible opportunity for both Charities to promote their charity work in the Cardiff area.
3.This isn’t the first time you have supported Ronald McDonald House Charities. Why support this charity?
As a McDonald’s Franchisee and Business Operator, an alliance with an appropriate Charity is an essential balancing mechanism for giving back to our communities. Ronald McDonald House Charities support families in times of need and the proposed New Ronald McDonald House Development in Cardiff is a remarkable demonstration of commitment to providing a service and support project for the People in South Wales.
4.Sum up Ronald McDonald House Charities in three words.
Help, Hope and Healing.
