About this house
The Ronald McDonald House at Oxford Children’s Hospital was the eleventh Ronald McDonald House to open in the UK, and the first House in the UK to be opened within the hospital building itself. The House is on the top floor of the new hospital and offers 17 rooms where parents can get some much needed rest, reassured by the fact that they are under the same roof as their children. The House has everything a family could need in order to continue some semblance of normal life including kitchens, laundry facilities and a lounge area.
In 2015, the House helped 650 families stay close to their children in hospital.
about the hospital
Oxford Children’s Hospital offers many regional and supra-regional specialist services and is the home to one of only four paediatric craniofacial services in the UK, meaning children and their families travel from all over the UK to receive vital care.
"Archie underwent two open heart surgeries and spent nearly 60 days on life support. For months his life was in the balance and ours was on hold. We would have slept on the floor just to be near Archie. Instead, we were amazed to find a beautiful room waiting for us at the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you to the most supportive, loving and kind team of staff who had a sixth sense about when to give you a hug or give you space. We can't thank the Oxford team enough and will be forever grateful to them."

Proposed relocation of Ronald McDonald House Oxford
In January 2007, we opened a 17 bedroom House located on the top floor of the children’s hospital, which accommodated over 600 families last year, however there were many more who needed our help.
We are now proposing a relocation and the 62-bedroom House will be constructed in grounds currently occupied by tennis courts, adjacent to Woodlands Road.
