Meet some of our families

Below are stories of families who have used the Ronald McDonald House at Camberwell. If you would like to share your story with us please contact us at camberwell@rmhc.org.uk

A Family Story

“I stayed at a Ronald McDonald House for about six weeks and it proved to be a rea port in a storm. The House offered a safe place to keep our belongings, cook and more importantly to try and get some crucial rest. I am not sure I could have coped for six weeks on a camp bed in a hospital. I was able to come and go as I pleased and the staff were very supportive, but unobtrusive. The house helped me cope with my daughter’s illness, and keep my family together.  It was a comfort to know I was less than five minutes away from my daughter if she or the doctors needed me”

Camberwell Fundraising Events

There are no fundraising events at the moment, but here are a few ways you can help the House:

  • You can help by setting up a regular gift or making a one-off donation. Or you can send a cheque to us made payable to Ronald McDonald House Charities at Freepost RMHC with a note to say the money is for RMH Camberwell.
  • You can organise a fundraising or sponsored event such as a sponsored walk or organising a quiz night, fun day, coffee morning or car boot sale. You can also help your local school to organise a fun day, fete, cake sale, own clothes day or sports day - the list is endless!
  • A great way to fundraise is to take part in a sporting event! If you are a keen swimmer, runner or cyclist there are many events you can take part in up and down the country or you can simply organise an event yourself.
  • Or you can volunteer your time at the House or use your business expertise to donate gifts in kind or help us in a professional manner.
  • We need to spread the word about the charity and the House. If you would like to be featured as a case study or have any other enquires or suggestions please speak to the House Manager or a member of the Ronald McDonald House Team.
