1989 1989 Ronald McDonald Childrens Charities (now Ronald McDonald House Charities) was established.
1990 The first Ronald McDonald House opened in June of this year at Guy’s and St Thomas' Hospital.
1993 The largest Ronald McDonald House in Europe and the second House in the UK opened in April of this year.
1996 In March the third Ronald McDonald House opened in Glasgow, Scotland serving Yorkhill Hospital.
1998 The first Ronald McDonald Family Rooms opened in Sheffield
1999 The second Ronald McDonald Family Rooms opened in Camberley. The Ronald McDonald House in Brighton opened in April of this year and it was the fourth UK House.The third Ronald McDonald Family Rooms opened in Truro Cornwall.
2000 A busy year for Family Rooms as the fourth, fifth and sixth Ronald McDonald Family Rooms opened in Bristol, Hammersmith and Southampton.The fifth Ronald McDonald House opened in Camberwell, South East London in April of this year.
2001 Seven Ronald McDonald Family Rooms opened this year in Inverness, Grimsby, Bath, Guildford, Beckton and two in Belfast and Bath.
2002 The sixth Ronald McDonald House opened in November of this year at Bristol serving Bristol Royal Hospital for children
2003 Two more Ronald McDonald Family Rooms were opened in Newcastle Upon – Tyne and Stoke in July and August of this year.
2004 This year saw the opening of three more Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Arundel, Conway and Chelsea and Westminster.
2005 The seventh Ronald McDonald House opened in September of this year at Basildon. Another busy year as five more Ronald McDonald Family Rooms opened in Salford, Gloucester, Cardiff, Worcester, and Dundee putting RMHC well and truly on the map.The eight Ronald McDonald House opened in December of this year at Tooting South West London.
2006 The ninth Ronald McDonald House opened in January of this year at Southampton. The tenth Ronald McDonald House is due to open in the Summer of this year.The 26th Ronald McDonald Family Room opened in January of this year at Leeds.
2007 The eleventh Ronald McDonald House opened in January of this year at Oxford. The House serves the families of children being treated at Oxford Children’s Hospital. It was one of the first to be situated within the top floor of a UK hospital. The House has 18 ensuite bedrooms with communal living facilities. The twelfth Ronald McDonald House opened in February of this year and is also situated on the top floor of the new Richard Desmond Children's Eye Centre; part of Moorfields Eye Hospital. The House has ten en-suite bedrooms and is user friendly for families with visual impairment. RMHC also opened three more Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at the Children’s Hospice South West, which has eight bedrooms, Guys and St Thomas’, which has seven bedrooms, and Kings College Hospital, Camberwell, which has five bedrooms. All the rooms cost RMHC over £650,000.
