RMHC accomodation
RMHC – Ronald McDonald House Charities was established in the UK in 1989 as an independent, registered charity supporting families with children in hospital. RMHC provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for the families of children requiring in-patient care in hospitals and hospices across the UK. When a child is admitted to hospital the family can find the time pressures and cost of travelling to and from the hospital very stressful. RMHC helps to support families through this difficult time by providing free accommodation in or near the hospital where families can be together and benefit from the support of other families facing similar situations. By giving families the opportunity to stay together in a home-like environment they have one less thing to worry about.

As an independent, registered charity, RMHC’s main focus is establishing Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms (RMFR) at children’s hospitals and hospices throughout the UK. In addition to providing bedrooms and communal living areas, a Ronald McDonald House and family provides valuable support for the families and enable them to rest in private or enjoy the company of other families.

There are currently 12 Ronald McDonald Houses and 29 sets of Ronald McDonald Family Rooms across the UK. To date RMHC UK has helped to establish over 40 accommodation projects around the UK providing over 300 bedrooms every night for families to stay in. The accommodation RMHC provide is so desperately needed at other locations to help more families at a difficult time in their lives.
