RMH Birmingham Children’s
About the House
The new Ronald McDonald House at Birmingham Children’s Hospital is one of our largest purpose built accommodation facilities. As well as providing 60 en suite bedrooms, our Birmingham House offers families the opportunity to cook together, to eat together and share their experiences of the day.
For families coming to the Children’s Hospital for day care, there is also a purpose built lounge, kitchen and play area on the ground floor for their use throughout the day.
The House opened in November 2009, but, even though the House has now been built, we still need help to raise much needed funds to cover the cost of running the House.
Number of rooms: 60
Opening date: November 2009
About the hospital
The House looks after families of children being treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital - one of the top four specialist children’s hospitals in the UK. The Hospital sees over 240,000 patients each year from Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond. The Hospital is a nationally designated specialist centre for epilepsy surgery and a trauma centre for the West Midlands, a national transplant centre, and a centre of excellence for complex heart conditions, the treatment of burns, cancer, liver and kidney disease. They also have a neonatal department and a paediatric intensive care unit.
The BUPA Great Birmingham Run is the latest addition to the popular Great Run series. Passing famous landmarks of the second city with a field of charity runners running alongside elite athletes, this is a half marathon not to be missed. Join our team and help make a difference to the lives of hundreds of families with children in hospitals across the UK.
