The Ronald McDonald House serving Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow was the third to open in the UK, in March 1996. Ronald McDonald House Charities contributed £500,000 towards the development of the House, which has 26 en-suite bedrooms, kitchens, lounges, playrooms and a garden.
