Charity milestone celebrated in Brighton

Ronald McDonald House Brighton marks occasion with tea party and fun day

Staff were joined by families – including many who have been given a place to stay at the House since it opened in 2000 – and volunteers for the special get-together on Sunday 14 September.

The tea party was held as part of a series of special events called ‘Share Your Moment’ that are being held throughout September to celebrate 25 years of Ronald McDonald House Charities – the independent charity that in 2013 provided a place to stay for 7,000 families at or near hospitals across the UK.

Ronald McDonald House Brighton is one of 14 Houses run by the independent charity. As well as bringing together families past and present to mark the special milestone, the House celebrated in style with balloon making and face-painting adding to the fun.

3. Ronald McDonald House Brighton is one of 14 Houses in the UK run by Ronald McDonald House Charities, an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at hospitals across the UK. It enables seriously ill children to have their families close by when they are undergoing treatment and allows them to maintain a degree of normal family life.

4. Ronald McDonald House Charities opened in 1989 and last year helped support over 7,000 families with children in hospital. The Charity, which this year celebrates 25 years of keeping families together, relies on the generosity of supporters and fundraisers, including McDonald’s customers, without whom it would be unable to continue its work.
