Gillian Mulloy (left) from Ronald McDonald House Camberwell is presented with a cheque on Wednesday 26 March 2014 for £5,000 by south London businessman and long-standing House supporter Terry Eagle.

The much-appreciated donation to the House, which provides free accommodation for the families of sick children being treated at King’s College Hospital, has been recognised by grateful staff with a plaque on the door of one of its 24 bedrooms.

Terry Eagle says: “Keeping families together is the most important thing in the world in times of crisis. It is my privilege to continue to support the Camberwell House and the families it looks after.”

2. Ronald McDonald House Camberwell is one of 14 Houses in the UK run by Ronald McDonald House Charities, an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at hospitals across the UK. It enables seriously ill children to have their families close by when they are undergoing treatment and allows them to maintain a degree of normal family life.

3. Ronald McDonald House Charities opened in 1989 and in 2013 helped support over 7.000 families with children in hospital. The Charity relies on the generosity of supporters and fundraisers, including McDonald’s customers, without whom it would be unable to continue its work.
